Environment secretary ‘not convinced’ a target for protected sites is necessary
The environment secretary has said she is “not convinced” that legally binding targets are the way to improve protected sites, but that she is committed to “get our environment in a better state that we inherited it” and that improving the ecological status of SSSI’s “is a crucial element” of that.
