Campaigners warn of ‘legal quicksand’ if UK government blocks Scottish deposit return scheme

The UK government said that it is ‘carefully and fully’ considering a request for a derogation of the Scottish government’s deposit return scheme (DRS) from UK internal market rules, with campaigners warning that failure to do so would harm the environment and businesses, and potentially leave ministers in ‘legal quicksand’.
