Government backs amendment to allow councils to ‘opt out’ of future ULEZ-style air quality schemes
The transport secretary has said that the government will support an amendment to the Levelling up and Regeneration bill to allow London boroughs to 'opt out' of future 'road user charging schemes', as the capital's new controversial Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) comes into force.
