Storm overflow reduction plan ‘lawful’ but does not deal with ‘illegal sewage spills’, judge rules

The High Court has rejected claims that the government’s plan to tackle storm overflows is unlawful, after two judicial reviews brought by campaign groups were heard in conjunction, however it has clarified that the timelines for storm overflows to be fixed do not apply to illegal spills.
