The National Compost Development Association (NCDA) was launched in June to help realise the huge potential market for waste-derived composts. Competition for the high-value retail market is expected to be tough, and only clean source-separated materials are likely to meet the quality demanded. But a lack of official standards is still hindering the growth of sales.
