One waste authority prosecutes another

The courts are still imposing widely divergent and in some cases derisory fines for waste offences. In two cases during June, a local authority was fined £6,000 following an incident involving clinical waste - but a fly-tipper with previous convictions received a £300 fine for a total of nine offences.
