Fish tumours in water supply river reinforce health fears

A major water supply river in Hertfordshire and North London contains fish with much higher levels of tumours than similar watercourses, a study has found.1 The Lee receives large volumes of sewage effluent and the finding will add to health fears raised by the discovery that fish in the river are being affected by oestrogens in effluents.
