Fresh warning on emissions from rising diesel car sales

A report by a Department of the Environment (DoE) advisory group which was heavily criticised by the motor industry earlier this year after warning that rising sales of diesel cars would slow reductions in emissions of particulates and nitrogen oxides has now received broad backing from a study commissioned by two other Government Departments.1 The research has also done nothing to support manufacturers' claims that diesel cars will help achieve major cuts in carbon dioxide emissions.
