Councils call for extension of Part B controls on VOCs

The scope of local authority air pollution control (LAAPC) should be extended to processes releasing relatively small amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), the Association of Metropolitan Authorities (AMA) told the House of Commons Environment Committee this month. But environmental health officers are concerned that they lack resources to cope with any such increase in their workload.
