Leigh's solidification process back in the limelight

A long-running dispute about the Sealosafe hazardous waste solidification process operated by Leigh Environmental is coming back to the boil. The Environment Secretary has said he is minded to uphold the company's appeal against Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council's refusal to allow it to continue depositing Sealosafe "polymer" in a clay pit in Aldridge - but the council is now taking legal advice on whether to challenge his decision.
