A range of environmental business software resources are available to help users find and assess the best tools to meet their needs

Environment Tools, developed by consultants Aether with ENDS is a free database of more than 350 environmental accounting and management tools, available at www.environmenttools.co.uk. New tools can be listed and their details updated for free. Users can rate and comment on listed tools. A search facility enables users to filter tools by function, industry sector scope, environmental impacts assessed and more.

US energy consultancy Groom Energy (www.groomenergy.com) has a website listing vendors of carbon consulting software and their products (www.groomenergy.com/carbon_consulting_software.html).

CEMSUS (www.cemsus.com) is an Australian website produced by sustainability analyst Connection Research (www.connectionresearch.com.au). It presents a survey of carbon emissions management software. About 100 products are listed, together with a free report.

EHSsoftserve.com (www.ehssoftserve.com) is a US site listing hundreds of environmental software tools including carbon management, sustainability, air pollution, emergency planning and response, water, waste and chemicals management.

UK-based independent analyst Verdantix (www.verdantix.com) has produced several reports on environmental business software, including:
