Business interest in energy saving levelling off

Active promotion of improvements in energy efficiency among British businesses appears to be levelling off, according to a survey for the Department of the Environment (DoE).1 Companies which have signed up to a DoE campaign to promote energy saving are well ahead of the pack, but about one-fifth are failing to honour their pledges - and top management continues to display woeful ignorance of the causes of global warming. The results also show the level of business interest in seeking certification to UK and EC environmental management standards.
