Health studies point the finger at industrial air pollution

Studies into the health effects of air pollution in the UK have been few and far between, and only recently have the Government and the research community shown a willingness to get to grips with the problem. Most scientists in the field are focusing on the high-profile issue of traffic pollution. But a handful of recent studies - including one linking a wallpaper factory in County Durham to high levels of respiratory ill health and lung cancers - suggest that it may be unwise to ignore the health effects of pollution from industrial sources.
