DoE report understates evidence of oestrogen pollution

There is convincing evidence of a decline in human reproductive health but no evidence of a causal link with oestrogenic chemicals, a review commissioned by the Department of the Environment (DoE) has concluded.1 However, some of the chemicals which are of most concern - notably phthalates and bisphenol-A - barely get a mention. The review is also in danger of understating the full force of the scientific argument behind current concerns because of its focus on gaps in the evidence.
