PCB, dioxin contamination lingers near ReChem plant

An official warning to residents on a smallholding close to ReChem International's hazardous waste incinerator not to consume eggs from their land has been repeated at the end of a major investigation sponsored by the Welsh Office.1 The study has provided further confirmation that the site is heavily contaminated by PCBs and dioxins - but also tentative evidence that pollution levels may be declining.
