Slow advance of policy to curb land dereliction

Two major proposals to reduce land dereliction were unveiled in a consultation paper issued by the Department of the Environment (DoE) on 7 February.1 But the Government appears to have dropped plans to impose financial penalties on landowners who keep land in a derelict state.
