Unilever firm's IPC fine for 1,000 unreported breaches

Unilever subsidiary UML has been fined a record £35,000 after it failed to report almost 1,000 breaches of its integrated pollution control (IPC) authorisation. The case has reinforced concern about the lacklustre environmental performance of Unilever companies in the Merseyside area.
