Acid deposition study last straw for SO2 trading

Power stations' contributions to acid rain damage depend strongly on their location, according to a study of sulphur dioxide deposition on wildlife sites carried out for the Joint Nature Conservation Committee.1 The findings are a blow to the Government's proposed sulphur trading scheme - which is already looking unlikely to come to fruition.
