Go-ahead for North West Water's sewage sludge incinerators

North West Water has received planning permission from Environment Secretary John Gummer to build a sewage sludge incineration complex at Shell Green, Widnes. The decision is of wider significance because it suggests that waste companies are now winning the argument that incinerators do little to deter local business investment.
