Energy Saving Trust moves to boost markets for low-energy goods

The Energy Saving Trust (EST) has announced plans to develop markets for energy-efficient products and services under a £14 million work programme for 1996/97 funded by the Department of the Environment (DoE). The Trust has revived a successful project to stimulate the market for efficient condensing boilers by offering rebates to domestic customers. However, its plans for a high-profile marketing campaign based on a simple label for energy-efficient products have yet to be approved by the DoE.
