Agency looks to certification of emission monitors

Proposals for a certification scheme for continuous emission monitors (CEMs) have been made by the Environment Agency. In an extension of the self-monitoring approach adopted under integrated pollution control (IPC), it has suggested that operators using certified CEMs will be subject to a lower level of independent check monitoring.
