Vehicle owner convicted for fly-tipping by driver

A London man has been convicted for allowing his vehicle to be used for the commission of a fly-tipping offence even though he had no knowledge that it was being used for that purpose. The prosecution, brought by Hertfordshire waste regulators just before their transfer to the Environment Agency, is believed to be the first contested case of its kind.
