Leigh's latest conviction for orange cloud incident

A subsidiary of the Leigh waste management group has been fined £12,000 for an incident in which a waste storage tank was ruptured, releasing an orange cloud which drifted off site from its waste treatment centre in the West Midlands. Another Leigh subsidiary in the area was hit with a fine earlier this year for breaching its licence, and the two cases have brought the fines and costs awarded against the group to over £80,000 within 12 months.
