Supermarkets demand segregation of genetically modified soya

European retailers have demanded that genetically modified soya beans developed by the US company Monsanto are segregated from the conventional crop. Some supermarkets want to label food containing the modified soya, while others may refuse to stock it altogether. The decision is a major blow to Monsanto, which is worried that segregating crops will discourage farmers from growing its crop.
