Ban mooted as voluntary approach on CFC refrigerants fails

A practice which has highlighted the irresponsible attitude of some British businesses to the threat to the ozone layer is to be banned by the Government. Proposals issued by the Department of the Environment (DoE) in early March would prohibit the import and supply of ozone-depleting refrigerants in non-refillable containers.1
