UK to come into line with old EC surface water rules

Draft regulations which will bring the UK into full formal compliance with two EC Directives on surface waters used for drinking water abstraction two decades after their adoption were issued for consultation by the Department of the Environment (DoE) on 1 August.1 The legislation is likely to have limited effects on dischargers.
