Increase in reported incidents involving cryptosporidium

The number of "events" involving cryptosporidium notified this year to the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) by water companies has been the highest so far, according to a parliamentary answer from junior Environment Minister James Clappison.1 Companies topping the list of notifications since 1990 are Yorkshire, North West and South West Water.
