Minister rebuffs paper industry over latest assault on eco-labels

A swingeing attack on the EC eco-labelling criteria for copying paper was made by two Conservative MPs during an adjournment debate in the House of Commons on 6 November. Their complaints were the latest stage in the paper industry's campaign against the EC scheme - but Environment Minister James Clappison rejected the criticisms and suggested that the industry was itself at fault in pulling out of negotiations on the criteria.
