Teesside councils angered by DoE report on ship emissions

Emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from shipping terminals make only a small contribution to the UK's emissions and are not suited to regulatory control, according to a report prepared for the Department of the Environment (DoE). But councils on Teesside say the report ignores potentially severe impacts on local air quality - and have attacked the industry's desire to keep its releases secret.
