DoE under fire over delay on rendering plant decision

Air pollution from the animal rendering industry is continuing to give the Department of the Environment (DoE) a nasty headache. In an adjournment debate in the House of Commons on 28 November, a Conservative MP made stinging criticisms of the DoE's failure to respond to a High Court ruling in March which quashed a decision by the Environment Secretary to authorise a Wiltshire rendering plant which is causing a serious odour nuisance.
