Another fine for Unilever over piggery pollution

Multinational food business Unilever has failed to fend off a conviction for polluting a Bedfordshire stream despite going to great lengths to undermine the prosecution case. Another three food businesses have also been convicted of water pollution offences recently - among them a poultry operation which was fined £15,000 after maintaining a not guilty plea through a prolonged trial.
