Municipal waste strategies urged by DoE group

Proposals for local authorities to co-operate more with each other in developing integrated waste management solutions have been made by a group chaired by the Department of the Environment (DoE). The group advocates a move to "municipal waste management strategies" which would tie both waste collection and disposal authorities more closely into policies pushed by regional bodies and the Government's forthcoming statutory waste strategy.
