Brussels plans separate collections for hazardous municipal waste

A discussion paper containing proposals for an EC Directive requiring separate collection of hazardous wastes from households and other "municipal" sources has been circulated by the European Commission. The proposal would also require manufacturers of almost 20 categories of products to mark them with a special logo informing consumers not to dispose of them with ordinary rubbish.
