Rover becomes first BS7750 holder to be fined for pollution

Car manufacturer Rover has been fined £4,000 for a spill of chlorinated solvent which forced the closure of an amenity lake in Solihull. The case appears to be the first conviction of a company which has been certified to the environmental management standard BS7750.
