Aluminium industry sucked into global warming debate

The scientific community has overlooked two of the most potent greenhouse gases in its assessments of the pollutants contributing to global warming, according to a US scientist.1 Both are emitted from primary aluminium smelters, and their involvement in global warming will now need to be taken into account in life-cycle analyses of the environmental effects of aluminium products.
