Textile finishers demand more time for pesticide clean-up

The issue of pentachlorophenol (PCP) discharges from the textile finishing industry, which disappeared from view some months ago, has come back on the agenda with a vengeance. Faced with an impending crack-down on PCP discharges to sewer, the industry is lobbying for yet another extension of the deadline for eliminating the problem - and is warning of massive job losses if its demands are not met.
