Dutch Government proposes take- back regulations for electronic goods

Proposals to require producers and importers of electrical and electronic goods to take back their products for recycling from 1999 were announced by the Dutch Government in March. They cover "brown" as well as "white" goods, and will apply to products already on the market before the legislation comes into force. The move may increase the pressure on the European Commission to propose harmonising legislation across the EC.
