Anglers threaten liability suit over sheep dip pollution

An unprecedented legal action is being threatened against two chemical companies by the Anglers Conservation Association (ACA) in an attempt to prevent further serious water pollution incidents caused by sheep dips. The ACA has told Bayer and Grampian Pharmaceuticals, producers of a new generation of pyrethroid dips, that it may bring proceedings under product liability legislation unless they agree to a plan of action and set up a fund to restore dip-polluted rivers and compensate those affected.
