Runaway reaction costs chemical firm £123,000

Yorkshire chemical manufacturer Holliday Dyes and Chemicals has been fined £50,000 for a blast at its works in Huddersfield. The explosion caused a reactor vessel to crash through two floors of a building, threw a one-tonne vessel lid through the roof and released a cloud of acid gas.
