The Government's defence of low-cost landfill practices is damaging the international competitiveness of the UK waste management industry, according to a report prepared for the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).1 The conclusion comes alongside news that another leading waste company, Leigh Interests, has fallen into foreign ownership.
