Renderers move nearer to burning waste from BSE cull

Plans to burn waste from the Government's cattle cull in rendering plants are moving forward, with six preparing to burn unwanted meat and bone meal (MBM) as fuel. The Government has now officially identified the technique as a promising solution to its BSE waste disposal headache - and appears to have accepted that the process does not fall under integrated pollution control (IPC).
