Lords get little joy on proposals for openness on EC legislation

Recommendations by the House of Lords Select Committee on the European Communities for opening up to public scrutiny key features of the processes involved in drafting, implementing and enforcing EC environmental legislation have received a mostly lukewarm response from the Government. And it is still making up its mind on how to enhance public access to environmental information and whether to fund judicial reviews of official decisions in applying EC legislation.
