Air pollution linked to up to 24,000 deaths, say DoH experts

Short-term air pollution causes between 12,000 and 24,000 early deaths in Great Britain each year, according to a report for the Department of Health (DoH).1 The true impact is likely to be even higher, as experts were unable to quantify the effects of some common pollutants or the role played by long-term exposure to pollution.
