Yorkshire crypto outbreak exposes legal loophole again

Yorkshire Water has narrowly escaped prosecution over an outbreak of cryptosporidiosis linked to a drinking water supply to Bingley, West Yorkshire, in 1993. The decision of the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) not to recommend legal proceedings is the second occasion within five months on which a gaping loophole in the law has let a water company off the hook.
