Government refuses to commit to traffic reduction targets

A Private Member's Bill to curb road traffic passed its Committee and Report stages in the House of Commons in March. The Government, though supporting the Bill, is refusing to commit itself to setting national traffic reduction targets, but remains under pressure to explain why they would be unreasonable or unnecessary.
