Minister criticises landfill as "unsustainable"

A Bill to enable local authorities to support waste minimisation initiatives passed through its Committee stage in the House of Commons unamended on 18 March. The only note of controversy was struck by junior Environment Minister Angela Eagle, who attacked the UK's dependence on landfill in unusually strong terms.
