Plans for regional waste planning take shape

Government plans to make English local authorities co-operate at regional level on waste management planning have moved closer to fruition with the release of a final draft of a new planning policy guidance (PPG) note.1 The paper, which says that the eight Regional Planning Conferences should prepare waste strategies, will also shape the way the forthcoming national waste strategy is translated into local development plans.
