New rules on "grey list" substances in water, hexachloroethane

Regulations setting water quality standards for 20 dangerous substances came into force in England and Wales on 25 March. Standards already in force there for another dozen substances take effect in Scotland on 1 April. EC restrictions on the use of hexachloroethane in non-ferrous metals processes also take effect on 1 April.
