Waste rules for carriers, brokers, metals sites and licence-holders

Minor amendments to existing legislation on waste carriers and brokers and on metal recovery sites came into force in Britain on 1 April. The Government has also paved the way to new regulations dealing with landowners' rights to be consulted on, and compensated for, access to their land by neighbouring holders of waste management licences. Crown exemption from water pollution legislation has been lifted in Scotland.
