Agency attacks "conservative" approach to sewage treatment

The Environment Agency has criticised water companies for failing to develop more efficient sewage treatment systems which would respond dynamically to loading. The attack appears in a new state-of-the-environment report on freshwaters, which also reviews developments in eutrophication, nitrate and pesticide pollution.1
